Lewis Park Shelter

Lewis Park sits along the shores of Lower Mud Lake and Yahara River. When combined with adjacent Legion Memorial Park, this area serves as a 22.2-acre community park. This park provides a year-round shelter facility, volleyball court, outdoor ice skating (seasonal), softball field with backstop, large playground, benches, picnic tables, and an observation deck with permanently mounted viewers.

The shelter facility is located on the western portion of the park. The shelter is reservable during the months of May through mid-October. The shelter has an indoor gathering area with picnic tables, restrooms, and kitchen area (refrigerator and sink). The shelter also includes an outdoor covered area with picnic tables, these areas can be joined by opening garage doors (seasonally)

Note:

If you require access to the kitchen, please obtain a key fob from the Public Works Department the week before your reservation Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. There will be a $75 fee subtracted from your deposit if a Village employee has to come provide access to the kitchen the day of your event. Keys for the roll up doors will be provided for rentals June through October. Usage of the roll up doors November through May will be at the discretion of the Public Works Department. Reservations are from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a hour allotment for clean-up following your event. Village ordinance Sect. 44-23 lists park closures at 10:00 p.m.

Exchange Street, which is a main route to access the Lewis Park shelter, has construction occurring during 2024. We are recommending an amended route to arrive at the shelter. This amended route has been added to the photos of the shelter. For any questions regarding the project, please contact the Public Works Department at 608-838-7287.
