McDaniel Park Shelter 1

McDaniel Park was acquired by the Village in 1976 and is a community park that sits on the northeastern shoreline of Lake Waubesa. The park is 8.7 acres; of which, the northern portion is wetland intended for conservancy use (4 acres). The southern portion is developed and includes two open-air reservable picnic shelter, benches, picnic tables, newly renovated public restrooms, playground, public pier, two drinking fountains, a pea gravel beach, canoe/kayak launch, and sand volleyball court. The park has ample parking and provides easy access to the Lower Yahara River Trail and the amazing 0.9 mile boardwalk for access to Lake Farm County Park and the City of Madison.

The open-air shelters are reservable from May to early October. They have power, lights and picnic tables. Restrooms are located close nearby and ADA accessible.

Shelter 1 is located closer to the parking lot than Shelter 2.

Note:

Reservations are from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a hour allotment for clean-up following your event. Village ordinance Sect. 44-23 lists park closures at 10:00 p.m.

Please review all terms of shelter reservations as included on the Facility Rental Agreement. This form is completed during the reservation process.

REFUND POLICY: Refunds will not be issued due to inclement weather. Cancellations and refund requests must be made by emailing public.works@mcfarland.wi.gov or by contacting the Public Works Department at 608-838-7287.

No refunds are given for cancellations made less than 30 days in advance of the reservation date
